Since 2000, with the introduction of the Electronic Communications Act,
electronic signatures are becoming more widely used throughout the UK. The ePad
family is now seeing wide use in the financial, banking, retail and transport
industries.
The ePad range of electronic signature pads works alongside the IntegriSign
software suite to provide you with a secure, easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy
electronic signature solution. IntegriSign also comes with a comprehensive
software developers kit (SDK) complete with samples which will allow you to add
IntegriSign and ePad functionality into your own software. As standard,
IntegriSign contains plug-ins for Microsoft Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat,
meaning you can use your ePad in these applications as soon as installation is
complete.
The ePad models themselves range from the slimline, lightweight and purely
functional ePad through to the ePad-Vision, which has all of the functionality
of the basic model, yet also incorporates a full colour TFT screen, perfect for
displaying marketing messages and even asking questions of the signer. The
ePad-Vision, along with the ePad-LS comes with 256-bit AES encryption as
standard, providing yet another layer to your document security.
When a document is signed, the IntegriSign object embedded into the document
captures enough data to detect if the document is tampered with at a later date.
So long as the document stays the same, the signature object displays the
signature fine, and will even provide audit information, giving the reader the
name of the signer and the date and time the document was signed (with
additional other information available). If the document is altered at all after
signing, however, the IntegriSign object will be invalidated. It is possible to
split a document into multiple sections, allowing each section to be verified
and signed for individually. |
